| Dear Friends, A warm welcome to the Website for the Roman Catholic Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, Wanstead. The parish is situated in east London in the London Borough of Redbridge and is one of the larger parishes in the Diocese of Brentwood. We welcome over thirty different nationalities to the celebration of the Eucharist each week. There are many and varied events taking place in the parish, which reflect a multi cultural community. These are listed elsewhere on this website. Our recently opened Pastoral Centre is the venue for the different events and programmes. Our motto in the parish is a simple one “We strive to follow Jesus”. We are members of the Christian Fraternal of Christian Churches and are honoured to work alongside our brothers and sisters of the various denominations. We are conscious of the importance of collaborative ministry and with one Priest this is reflected by the presence of seven Pastoral Assistants on the pastoral team. We are very aware that our parish does not end at the parish boundaries but extends far beyond and to this end we endeavour to help people in the third world through a major CAFOD project each year. The parish is a worshiping Eucharistic community and as best we can we try ensure that all we do is centred on the Eucharist as we endeavour to live its challenge in our daily lives.
